Viscosity describes the rheological properties of a lubricant. Viscosity is the most important physical property and is dependent upon temperature, pressure and shear rate. There are different measuring procedures known and standardized for viscosity measuring. Even though in some cases the measuring of viscosity is necessary, from a practical point of view, an approximate calculation may be sufficient.
